Are the Pirates the worst franchise around?

What are the most depressing franchises to cheer for?

Some fans simply have it rougher than others. No, Yankees fans, we're not talking about somehow persevering through Curtis Granderson's platoon splits. Pirates fans haven't had a playoff appearance to heat up October in 17 seasons, and they got another kick in the teeth this week when an Associated Press report revealed the team made nearly $30 million while losing 189 games in 2007 and 2008. But is cheering for the Pirates more depressing than cheering for the Clippers or rooting for the Raiders?

Some fans choose their fate and some inherit it. But which fans have the roughest go of it? Rank the candidates below.
