Alvarez's no-no leads to top billing

10/8/2013

Henderson Alvarez capped his year (5-6) with one of the best highlights of the Marlins' 62-100 season. The third-year pitcher helped the Marlins sweep the playoff-bound Tigers with a 99-pitch no-hitter Sunday afternoon. After his nine innings of work, Alvarez sat and watched as teammate Giancarlo Stanton scored the game's lone run on a wild pitch.

You can't have a top five without this guy: Peyton Manning garnered enough votes to land in the top 5 for the fourth consecutive week after throwing his 16th touchdown pass of the season, an NFL record for TD passes through four games. Rounding out the top five are Dover's all-time winning driver Jimmie Johnson, Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray and Tampa Bay Rays ace David Price. Do you agree with our top 10?
