Mega game for Detroit's Megatron

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson must have taken Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant's "I can do whatever he can do" statement earlier in the week to heart, because he went out and beasted in Sunday's win over the Cowboys. Johnson caught 14 balls for a Lions franchise-record 329 yards compared to Bryant's three catches for 72 yards. Megatron's stat line led teammate Reggie Bush to tweet, "Calvin Johnson is the greatest receiver in the history of the NFL! #dropsthemic"

Red Sox slugger David Ortiz fell into the second spot in this week's rankings after a red-hot start in the Fall Classic. His 11 hits are two shy of the record in World Series play. And according to the Elias Sports Bureau, Ortiz became just the third player in baseball history to reach base safely in nine straight Word Series plate appearances. Rounding out the top three was NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon, who gained 47 points and a boost in the Chase standings after earning his first win of the season and his eighth career win at Martinsville Speedway.
