Power rankings: Lionel Messi No. 1

3/25/2014

Lionel Messi is rewriting the record books in European soccer.

With his hat trick on Sunday, the Barcelona forward now holds the club's record for career goals in all matches with 371. He's moving up the lists for career goals in Spain's top league and goals in Champions League play. And his hat trick gave Barcelona a 7-0 win as it fights for the La Liga championship. For those reasons, Messi is No. 1 in this week's Cross-Sport Power Rankings.

Bulls center Joakim Noah and Pelicans big man Anthony Davis are second and third, respectively, while Josh Sweeney of the gold-medal-winning U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey team is No. 4. Bristol NASCAR Sprint Cup winner Carl Edwards checks in at No. 5.
