Victoria Azarenka reaches final

LUXEMBOURG -- Top-seeded Victoria Azarenka beat Julia Goerges of Germany 6-3, 6-3 on Saturday to reach the Luxembourg Open final.

Azarenka next plays Monica Niculescu of Romania, who reached her first WTA final by ousting Britain's Anne Keothavong 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 in a match that lasted more than three hours.

The third-ranked Azarenka broke Goerges five times, and saved seven of the nine break points she faced herself.

The 34th-ranked Niculescu has spent most of her career on the ITF circuit but is enjoying her best month ever, also having made the semifinals of the China Open.

Keothavong was trying to become the first British woman since Jo Durie in 1990 to reach a WTA final.
