NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Caroline Wozniacki has agreed to return to the New Haven Open in August, where she will attempt to win the tournament for a fifth consecutive year.
Wozniacki, currently ranked No. 6 in the world, has never lost in New Haven and won last year's championship without dropping a set.
A win this year would push her past Venus Williams for the most titles in New Haven. Williams won four times between 1999 and 2002.
The tournament, the final tune-up before the U.S. Open, also received commitments in the last week from the world's fourth-ranked player, Agnieszka Radwanska and rising American standout Christina McHale.
