The 2010 French Open champion proved too strong for Cornet, improving her overall record against her to 8-1.
Cornet was playing in her first final since 2008 -- the year she won her only WTA title in Budapest, Hungary.
Schiavone did not drop a set in the tournament, giving her a boost as she heads to Roland Garros, where she was runner-up last year.
The Italian says, "I'm happy again. I'm feeling the sensation of fighting and feeling the pain, and enjoying my game again."
