QUEBEC CITY -- Belgium's Kirsten Flipkens beat top-seeded Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 on Wednesday in the first round of the Bell Challenge.
In second-round play, American Lauren Davis routed second-seeded Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium 6-1, 6-1; third-seeded Mona Barthel of Germany beat Slovenia's Petra Rampre 6-2, 6-1; and sixth-seeded Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic topped Germany's Tatjana Malek 6-3, 6-3.
