Nicolas Almagro wins in Stockholm
STOCKHOLM -- Nicolas Almagro of Spain advanced to the quarterfinals of the Stockholm Open, beating Marius Copil of Romania 6-4, 7-6 (4) Wednesday.

The 27-year old Almagro, who was given a wild-card entry into the tournament, advanced after earning the only break of the match in the first set.
He will next face former No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt of Australia, who beat Jarkko Nieminen of Finland 7-6 (2), 2-6, 6-4 in a match where both players struggled to hold serve. Nieminen finished with more breaks -- six to five -- but Hewitt had three in the decider.
Also, Lithuania's Ricardas Berankis beat Florian Mayer of Germany 4-6, 6-4, 6-2, and Mikhail Youzhny of Russia ousted Swedish wild-card entry Patrik Rosenholm, 6-0, 6-2.
