HISTORY:

Opened in 1990, Target Center underwent a major renovation in 2004, when all seats were replaced and capacity was increased. The floor is one of only two moveable floors in the country, according to the arena website. Target Center also offers covered skyway bridges connected to numerous downtown shopping and retail districts. The U.S. Bank Theater located in the arena can be converted into seating from 2,500 to 7,500. Target Center also is home of the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx. Tours of Target Center are available the first Thursday of every month at 2 p.m.

Children under 2 years of age are free on an adult's lap.

General:

Prohibited items: cans, bottles, coolers, large bags and backpacks. No smoking in the building. There will be an increased security presence both inside and outside the Target Center. Fans entering the Target Center may be subject to security checks by metal-detecting hand wands. Briefcases and pocketbooks will be allowed in the Target Center, but will be inspected at all entrance gates. Once you have entered the arena, you will not be allowed to re-enter the Target Center for any reason.

Directions:

From Eastbound I-94: Take Northbound Fourth Street Exit. Proceed to First Avenue North and turn right to the Seventh Street Ramp.

Eastbound Highway 55: Turn right onto Seventh Street and proceed to the Seventh Street ramp.

Eastbound I-394: Direct access to the Target Center parking ramps.

Southbound 35W: Take the Washington Avenue Exit to Second Avenue. Take a left onto the Fifth Street Ramp.

Eastbound Hennepin Avenue: Take a left on Fifth Street and Seventh Street. Proceed onto ramps.

Parking:

The best place to park is in the ABC Ramps. You can reach these convenient ramps from numerous entrances off Minneapolis streets, as well as directly from freeways 94 and 394 (coming into downtown from the western suburbs).

Transportation:
