Elizabeth Cambage set to return
TULSA, Okla. -- The Tulsa Shock say they expect Elizabeth Cambage to rejoin the team in time for an Aug. 30 game against Los Angeles after she missed the first part of the WNBA season to train with the Australian Olympic team.
During the Olympics, the 6-foot-8 Cambage dunked in a game against Russia. Basketball's international governing body was not able to confirm whether she was the first woman ever to dunk in the Olympics. Australia went on to win the bronze medal.
On Thursday, the Shock's website featured a picture of Cambage with the word Slambage to promote her return later this month.
Cambage averaged 11.5 points and 4.7 rebounds as a rookie last season after being the No. 2 pick in the WNBA draft.
