Julie Vanloo not cleared by NCAA
AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State says recruit Julie Vanloo hasn't been cleared by the NCAA to join the Cyclones next season and is looking at going to school in her native Belgium.
Coach Bill Fennelly says Vanloo, a guard who played for Belgium's youth national teams for the past four years, remains hopeful she can join the Cyclones in the near future.
Vanloo will be eligible to attend Iowa State after next season, provided she meets academic qualifications for international transfer students.
Vanloo, one of five players in Fennelly's last recruiting class, would be a freshman in 2012-13 if she qualifies.
