Gene Roebuck to retire after 25th year
GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- North Dakota women's basketball coach Gene Roebuck says he will retire at the end of the season, his 25th with the Fighting Sioux.
Roebuck won three Division II titles at North Dakota (1997-99) before taking the program through the transition to Division I after the 2007-08 season. As of Friday, his record at North Dakota was 616-143 and his overall collegiate coaching record was 703-157 (.817).
The Velva, N.D., native says it's time for him to move on, and he will coach as hard as he always has though the end of the season.
