La.-Lafayette coach steps down
LAFAYETTE, La. -- Louisiana-Lafayette woman's basketball coach Errol Rogers has resigned.
The Ragin' Cajuns went 38-113 during Rogers' five seasons as head coach.
Rogers was a Louisiana-Lafayette graduate and returned to his alma mater in 2006 after spending four years as an assistant at Mississippi State. His best season with Louisiana Lafayette was in 2010-11, when the Cajuns went 11-19. They began this season 5-5 but finished 7-23.
Louisiana-Lafayette athletics director Scott Farmer says the university appreciated Rogers' dedication to his players and the way he represented the school.
Farmer says a national consulting firm has been hired to help identify candidates for Rogers' replacement and that the search will begin immediately.
