Connecticut junior guard Lauren Engeln has requested a release from the university, according to her club basketball coach, Russ Davis of the Cal Swish.
Once released, the Laguna Hills, Calif., native will look at numerous schools, including Boston College, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Oregon and USC. Where she ends up depends on the specifics of her release.
"She loved the experience and really loved her teammates and coaches," Davis said, "but she wants to play her last two years."
Engeln was ranked the No. 95 prospect in the country by ESPN HoopGurlz coming out of high school.
The 5-foot-11 guard played in 25 games as a sophomore, averaging 6.6 minutes per game.
