ESPN.com Imagine standing at the top of a pristine, snow-covered mountain, a chilly breeze ruffling your hair. You have your board strapped on and not a care in the world. In your mind, maybe you're even Terje Haakonsen or Tina Basich, and you are about to shred that hill with the sickest moves ever thought up. Then you hit the start button, and you're off. Yes, this is a video game -- Pro Boarder, from ESPN and Electronic Arts. And Friday night marked its debut as a full medal sport in the Winter X Games. Too sedate to be included in an extreme sports festival? Not so fast, my friend. This game was designed by snowboarders, with the likes of Haakonsen and Basich lending not only their names and likenesses, but also their entire repertoire of moves. Friday night, eight pro snowboarders squared off in one bracket opposite eight amateurs in the other. The pros could elect to play their electronic selves on the screen, and the amateurs could too! It's about as close to real snowboarding as you can get without having to pull on the long underwear.
